101 km Camdeboo Challenge
An archive of the original multi-day hike through the Karoo countryside and local guest farms. This is historical event information, not an announcement of a current hike.
The original 101 km Camdeboo Challenge promoted a six-night, five-day Karoo hiking experience through four guest farms, with the first evening in Aberdeen.
Backpacking or slackpacking
Hikers could choose more demanding backpacking routes or a slackpacking experience linking farm stays. The original event was limited to a small group, with pricing based on participation.
Early itinerary highlights
- Day 1: Aberdeen to Wynberg Guest Farm — approximately 19.7 km.
- Day 2: Wynberg Guest Farm to Komskloof Guest Farm — approximately 21.4 km.
- Day 3: From Komskloof towards Middel — approximately 18.9 km in the original description.
